Life after death has a lot to it than meets the eye. There is a difference between physical death and spiritual death. Your physical body will die and that is the end. Your spirit which is your soul cannot die and still lives on.
Is there life after death? Yes, there is life after death and this article seeks to explain this in detail. Continue reading below for more explanation of what happens after death.
Some people say that there is no life after death. However, remember that this applies to the physical body which dies and becomes lifeless. The question is why is it lifeless? It is because it has stopped working and your soul has left it.
Spiritually, we believe that life is based on your soul and your soul can never die with your body. That is where science and spirituality now differ. If you look at death from the angle of a scientist, there is no life after death.
If you look at the same form the angle of any on who believes in God, there is life after death because the soul is not physical and your soul bares your life. Your body is just a vessel that harbors your soul.
That is why we have dreams and there are also evidence in the past that can prove that there is life after death. Your soul will leave you physical body that will decompose and it has to go somewhere after that.
Where your soul goes will highly depend on how you live the live that you have now. So always try and be kind, treat others well so that your soul finds peace in the afterlife.
Where do we go immediately after death?
Christians & Muslims believe that after death, we either go to be with God or we go to hell based on how we used to behave and live our life on earth.
That is why religion encourages one to be human and do good so that they may have a peaceful afterlife.
Some Indians believe in reincarnation whereby you will die and your soul will come bike to this earth again in a different vessel. The current vessel here is your body. If you are good, you will come back in a better family or rank.
If you do bad in this life, you will comeback may be as a dog. That is why they don’t eat animals because you may be killing and eating an old friend.
Who want to eat their buddy, guess nobody right? That’s why it is important to understand that animals also have emotions and you should never treat them harshly.
Be good and kind to the animals around you since their great full soul will only bring you good luck in what you do.
Scientifically, death is understood to be the state that takes hold after our hearts stop beating.
Blood circulation comes to a halt, we don’t breathe and our brains shut down, that is what divides the states we occupy from one moment of been alive to the next one of been dead.
While many people may have the sensations of near-death experiences, scientists believe that they aren’t afterlife-related.
Some people who report experiencing a close encounter with death is as a result of the brain failing to receive oxygen, which distorts our perceptions.
Some researchers have found elevated levels of CO2 in the bloodstreams of those who had body sensations which are linked to visual hallucinations.
Similar to the effects of hallucinogenic drugs, these sensations may be created by the chemical changes happening in a body on the brink of death.
The “white light” some claim to see unfortunately happens only in our minds: sadly, death, is what is at the end of the tunnel. Most atheists back their argument that there is no God or afterlife based on these facts from the scientists.
Is there life after death or is it the end according to research?
Meier, D. E., Back, A. L., & Morrison, R. S. (2001) state that, life is there when those factors are all involved in it. Movement that is natural and inborn, reasoning and interaction, and being able to reproduce. Life is basically defined by those and if they stop, you are dead.
That’s when something is non-living and in humans recognized as death. If we were to look at it by logic, there is no life after death because death is cessation of life. Carroll, S. (2005) Contends that life after death is impossible.
While there are many things we don’t know about the world, he says, we do know about the particles that make up the human body and that they go nowhere after the body dies.
Consciousness’s been part of the physical body, it dies along with the rest of a person. Unlike other uncertainties in life, this concept is very straightforward that with death, life ends.
Proving that life after death is a theory and a myth that can only be described to be faulty at its best of definition. Apart from our dreams and feelings, we don’t see or hear of anyone who has supposedly passed on to another world.
However, we see exactly what happens to the human body after it stops working; the process of body decomposition may be a gruesome one, but it is also giving out an answer. Coroners and archaeologists will agree on this fact: It doesn’t look like life exists after death.
Do you know you are dying when you die?
New study suggests that when you die you know you’re dead because the brain keeps functioning and you know what’s happening around you.
Medical experts have for very long debated what happens when a person dies, with evidence of sensations or bright light, and films exploring the unknown.
But a new study suggests a person’s consciousness keeps working after their heart stops beating and their body movements fails. Survivors of cardiac arrest were aware of what was going on around them while they were ‘dead’.
This includes seeing doctors trying to save them or hearing conversations before they are ‘brought back to life’, the study revealed.
This means that a person may even hear their time of death being announced by medics as they are essentially ‘trapped’ inside their body with brain function.
It has also been noted that people who talk too much will always visualize more compared to calm people.
Xu, J. (2016) said anecdotal evidence has found that people in the first phase of death may still experience some form of consciousness.
The expert told Live Science that people who have survived cardiac arrest later accurately described what was happening around them after their hearts stopped beating.
He said: “They’ll describe watching doctors and nurses working, they’ll describe having awareness of full conversations, of visual things that were going on, that would otherwise not be known to them.
“Dr Parnia, of the NYU Langone School of Medicine in New York, said the accounts were verified by doctors and nurses, who were left stunned after learning that the patients remembered the details after being resuscitated.
His study is examining what happens to the brain after a person goes into cardiac arrest – and whether consciousness continues after death and for how long – to improve the quality of resuscitation and prevent brain injuries while restarting the heart.
According to religion, do you know why they were stunned, that is why spiritually God exists. Remember they say this person was dead, how then can they be able to see what was happening because the body is now dead? That alone is proof that your soul remains alive.
That there is the proof of life after death and even doctors know that somehow your soul is active while your body is just something that your soul lives in. That is why Christians say that your body is the temple of God and you should never defile it.
What happens to your mind when you die?
When the end comes, your experience will be a veiled secret known only to you but whatever it is, scientists say that the closing moments of consciousness could be powered by something mysterious and amazing taking place inside your brain.
In 2013, researchers at the University of Michigan found that after clinical death occurred in rats, their brain activity actually flared, revealing electrical signatures of consciousness that exceeded levels found in the animals’ waking state.
Scientists reasoned that if near death is experienced, stems from brain activity continues and correlates of consciousness should be identifiable in humans or animals even after the stoppage of cerebral blood flow.
That’s exactly what they detected with anaesthetized rats displaying a surge of highly synchronized brain activity within 30 seconds of an induced cardiac arrest, consistent with patterns you’d see in a highly aroused brain.
This study tells us that reduction of oxygen or both oxygen and glucose during cardiac arrest can stimulate brain activity that is characteristic of conscious processing.
While the findings do establish a new framework for interpreting where near-death experiences might come from, it doesn’t necessarily dictate that humans would undergo the same cognitive flare as rats that are dying.
But if our brains somehow surge in the same way, it could help to explain the sense of awareness reported by many people who are successfully resuscitated in medical emergencies.
I really do hope that you are following and understanding this based on answering what happens to our minds when we die.
We all imagine that the brain can’t function when the heart has stopped beating, but in these cases above, conscious awareness appears to have continued for up to three minutes into the period when the heart isn’t beating.
Even though the brain shuts down within 20 to 30 seconds after the heart has stopped sounds amazing, it’s worth noting that the phenomenon was only reported by 2 percent of patients. This is also the same facts that are used to explain dreams scientifically.
Humans are unique and that’s why religion perceives that we are created in the image of god since some things will always remain a puzzle. Remember science will only discover what is already there and explain how it works.
We have to look up to the fact that before they are discovered, they are still there thus the proof that God exists weather you recognize him or not.
While science has given us some fascinating insights into what the brain’s final moments might be, the research is not conclusive thus you have to stay positive in life and keep an open mind that your life here on earth may just determine what happens to your soul when you die.
What do you see when you die?
What you see when you die can be explained scientifically that when one dies, all the body parts don’t function including the eyes which humans use to see. This helps in concluding that after death one sees nothing.
From spiritual view and understanding, when a someone dies, his or her soul temporarily departs from the body awaiting the resurrection.
Those who have faith in Christ are carried by angles into the presence of the Lord, while those who have no faith in the Lord wait for judgment day and their soul goes to hell and burns there.
What happens to your body when you die?
What happens to your body when you die is as simple as your body is either buried or cremated depending on where you come from both traditionally or religiously. At the end of the day if buried, it will decompose. If Burt, it will turn to ash.
It has been faulty at best proving that life after death is feasible. Aside from within our feelings and dreams, we don’t hear or see of anyone who has supposedly passed on to another world.
However, we do see exactly what happens to the human after it stops working; the process of body decomposition may be a gruesome one, but also telling of what happens to the body when you die.
Archaeologists and coroners will agree on the fact that after death. Our body decomposes and becomes tiny particles just as we see soil.
That’s a physical fact that should not be a subject of discussion. Both religion & science nod in agreement in this.
What does death feel like?
Many humans anticipate knowing what death feels like. However, it is hard and challenging to research on this. facts are only brought out by the experiences of those who have been in challenging situations that almost took away their life.
It’s said that majority feel death has no pain and everything goes into total darkness. Also how deathfeels like depends on how your death occurs for instance death through an accident must have been painful.
Though you cannot say that it is death that is painful in that case, it is the physical body that was harmed and it was in pain. You can feel pain even when you are alive, be treated, then you feel relieved. So in this case we cannot say death is painful.
As a matter of fact, you cannot say you feel death physically but it is more of an emotional thing. It is as simple as trying to ask how does life feel. If you can answer how life feels, then definitely you will have an answer of how death feels in your own description.
What doe science say after death
Science say that death is very peaceful. In death, the heart stops functioning and hence no blood circulation takes place. This makes all parts of the body to stop functioning and the sense of feeling is also gone.
This includes the brains which get loose and can’t feel the outer world or the environment around them. Due to this, our bodies nonfunctioning situation causes the body to start decomposing.
Where do Christians think we go after death
Death is only physical in Christianity. The soul does not die and baptized early Christians were convinced they would not die at all but would still experience the advent of Christ in their lifetimes. Christians go directly into the Kingdom of God without spiritual death.
Others were convinced they would go through the air to meet Christ returning upon the clouds of the sky: “Then we who are alive, who are left, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so we shall always be with the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 4:17).
However, some just miss interpreted this because Jesus came on earth to save your souls which is more important. The physical body will die and decompose but your soul will be saved and be delivered form tribulations.
In the early imminent expectation, the period between death and the coming of the Kingdom still constituted no object of concern.
An expectation that one enters into bliss immediately after death is also found in the words of Jesus on the cross: “Today you will be with me in Paradise” (Luke 23:43).
Christians believe the antithesis to eternal life is not earthly life but eternal death. Christians believe when one has faith in God and obeys his deeds then he or she will have life after death where by the body will remain in the earth the soul will go to heaven.
Where do Muslims & Hindus think we go after death
Muslims view death as end of worldly life and the beginning of after life where there is a separation of soul from the body.
They believe that after death and burial two angles come to test the faith and that the righteous believers answer correctly and live in peace and comfort while sinners and disbelievers go through punishment.
Where do Hindus think we go after death? Hindus believe that they can either be reborn and experience life once again, or be liberated from the cycle of rebirth.
Where do witches think we go after death
Since witch craft is not a religion, there are different answers from every witch. Some believe there is an afterlife where one becomes a ghost.
Some believe that death is the end there is nothing more after it while others say they can be trapped somewhere forever.
Is there life after death is a topic that will live to be under research since there are no definite answers to the question.
We all have different beliefs as humans and this depends on sources of information that are pegged on the diverse background.
The act of having different religions and also the scientists complicate it more. It has left people to come up with answers to it depending on their beliefs of life after death.
This are questions that will live to be there in many generations to come until the day we all come into agreement of what to believe in.
Apart from science explanation of death in physical aspect, Spiritual death is diverse and all we have to do is believe and search for what is right religiously.
Living a purposeful and meaningful life is a goal that many strive to achieve. However, the motivation towards that goal differs.
Some people are focused on their current existence, while others believe that positive actions in the world will buy them a ticket to the next one which is heaven.
